How It Began

A vision born from passion

Five Dots was born from a simple but audacious idea: to bring the spirit, glamour, and artistry of the world's finest speakeasy bars to the streets of Worthing. To create a place where cocktails were taken seriously — where every drink told a story, where every evening felt like an event.

Tucked discreetly behind an unmarked door on Chapel Road, Five Dots invites you to step into the glamorous era of the 1920s. The dim candlelight, the amber glow of spirits on their shelves, the velvet leather of the Chesterfields — every detail has been considered, every corner crafted.

We are Worthing's best-kept secret. And we intend to keep it that way.

The Beginning — Volos, Greece

Thanos began his journey in the bar industry at just 16 years old in his hometown of Volos, Greece — a city by the sea with a culture of pleasure and hospitality. He calls it home. We call him a Greek God.

From Athens to Barcelona, from London to Amsterdam — Thanos spent years cutting his craft in award-winning establishments across Europe, absorbing every technique, every philosophy, every flavour philosophy he encountered.

Five years ago, Thanos moved to Brighton — arriving with a portfolio of skills, a book of secret recipes, and a vision for the kind of bar he wanted to run. A place with no compromise. A place with heart.

As Five Dots' Bar Manager and creative director, Thanos has built a cocktail menu that reflects his entire career. Each drink is a chapter. His favourite remains the Five Dots and a Dash — because rum tells the truest story of where he started.

One vision.

Behind our bar stands one of the finest spirit collections on the South Coast — over 300 bottles spanning every corner of the world. Scotch from the Highlands and Islay. Mezcal from Oaxaca. Rum from Barbados. Cognac from France.

The space itself was designed to feel lived-in and loved — exposed brick, vintage candlesticks, Chesterfield armchairs, antique framed prints. The kind of place that took years to build, and feels like it has always existed.

You'll find us open Thursday through Saturday. Ring the bell at our unmarked door on Chapel Road. We'll be expecting you.
